Reaching compliance with ATEX 137 can present complex challenges requiring innovative and flexible approaches to compliance.

Ex-Solutions Consulting's expertise lies in helping clients fulfilling these objectives. Our services include:

Workplace Risk Assessment
An assessment of hazardous events associated with the use of dangerous substances within your workplace. The process will utilise a structured semi-quantitative approach, providing clear consistent results with assigned risk ratings indicating the tolerability of fire and explosion risks for each event. Applied to existing or new workplace operations and arrangements, provided clear demonstrable evidence of the level of workplace fire and explosion risk.

Ignition Risk Assessment
ATEX allows users of certified equipment to assess existing, uncertified equipment for continued use, rather than replacement of the item with appropriate certified equivalents. This option provides users, with a viable, cost effective alternative to the replacement of existing well maintained equipment. Ex-solutions consulting have extensive expertise in this area, providing comprehensive, robust assessments in accordance with harmonised European guidance.

Area Classification
This service involves the systematic review of plant and operations, the results of which identifies the classification of areas where potentially explosive atmospheres exist into zones. These zones correspond to the standard of certified equipment that must be installed within the classified areas. Ex-Solutions Consulting have extensive knowledge in this field. Hazardous Area Classifications(HAC) can be completed to Harmonised European and International  Standards( IEC/EN 60079-10-1 and IEC/EN 60079-10-2) and appropriate Industry Codes (IP15, API 500 & 505, IGE SR/25 etc)  dependent on your particularly project requirements.

Equipment Inspections
Ignition sources within potentially explosive atmospheres must be controlled to reduce the risk of an explosion. Hence Ex certified (fixed and mobile) equipment is used and installed. ATEX requires the effective management of this equipment which dictates the need for integrity inspection when first installed and periodically thereafter to ensure the explosion equipment remains effective and intact.
IEC/EN 60079-17 provides clear guidance with respect to types of inspections and appropriate regimes, which in turn is used by Ex-Solution Consulting to provide the foundation of a structured framework to perform efficient effective equipment and installation inspections.

Ex-Solutions Consulting can inspect the suitability for use and condition of your equipment in formally classified areas to proscribed standards and codes, or provide you with an independent verification of your installations providing piece of mind that explosion safety requirements are met. All our inspection and verification services are carried out by COMPEX trained personnel. Inspections can be completed on equipment that operates in potentially explosive gas or dust atmospheres.
